Accommodation

New students are provided with the opportunity to live in one of the 7 colleges owned and operated by UNSW. The halls of residence at the university come equipped with a range of facilities including catering, BBQ facilities, cleaning, common rooms, internet access, study rooms and more. Students can choose to either reside in a college or in an apartment, with a variety of studios and flat-shares available. The fees for all colleges and apartments include utility bills (electricity, water and Internet), with the catered colleges having breakfast, lunch and dinner included within the fees. Prices range from $150 per week to $797.70 per week, depending on which type of housing students opt for. Find out more about accommodation here.

Students' Union

The University of New South Wales takes pride in its immersive, community-driven student body, Arc. Arc is the only student organisation at UNSW, offering 300+ clubs to join from, as well as an array of volunteering, sports, events and wellness initiatives. While encouraging students to become more involved on campus life through these extra-curricular opportunities, Arc also is home to the university’s Student Representative Council (SRC), who serve to protect and promote students’ rights on campus by running large-scale campaigns in the broader community and to the Government. Students are encouraged to keep up with these campaigns and to take part in Arc’s events.

In December 2022, UNSW Sydney researchers have secured more han $16 million in the latest round of the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Ideas Grant scheme funding.
