Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology
Founded in 1887 by Francis Ormond, RMIT Universirty intially began as a night school to educate people in response to the industrial revolution that was taking place in Australia at the time. Until 1992, it was a private college untila merger with the Phillip Institute of Technology meant it became a university.

RMIT University is ranked joint 22nd for Australian universities, according to the Times Higher Education rankings.
Employability
RMIT university provides a wide range of different services and opportunities in relation to emplyability, such as the Job Shop, Career Hub, Future Edge and career mentoring. This leads to the university exceding in this area, ranking as the best Australian university for graduate employability.
Fees
The Maximum Student Contribution amount from 1st January 2022 per EFTSL is A$3,985 for Band 1, A$8,021 for Band 2, A$11,401 for Band 3 and A$14,630 for Band 4. For International Students, tuition fees can range from A$18,520-26,000 per year, depending on the field of study.
Bursaries
RMIT awards over 2,000 scholarships every year, worth millions of dollars, with different scholarships available for degrees, PhDs, international students and overseas or exchange students.
Accommodation
The university selects a number of properties it deems to meet it's high standards and declares them Purpose-built Student Accomodation (PBSA), which are mainly used by international students. Famous for
RMIT is known for for its mix of contemporary architecture along with Victorian and Interwar-Period buildings. It also has the tradition of a graduation parade though the city of Melbourne, ending at Federation Square.
News
In January 2023, RMIT Europe joined a multi- million Euro partnership for culture and creativity which is designed to connect creatives and organisations to one of Europe's largest innovation networks.
