Swinburne University of Technology was founded in 1908 by Australian engineer, politician and philathropist George Swinburne to serve those who couldn't access further education in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

In 2022, this was done through strengthening education outcomes, cultural experience and student representation. They also ensure to listen to the students by collecting feedback.

News
In December 2022, professor Brian Cox was honoured at Swinburne with a honorary Doctor of Science in recognition to his global efforts in communicating Astronomy, Physics and Astrophysics.
