University residences which are generally full of first year undergraduates are a great way to adjust to living away from home and making new friends. Uni halls are usually located close to campus.
Generally offer a higher level of amenities than University Halls, at higher rents. Will be home to a more diverse mix of students and normally located close to campus.
A house share with a group of friends is often the lowest cost option and popular as the next step after living in Halls. Typically located in student friendly areas which require some travel to University.
A flat or apartment is similar to a house share on a smaller scale and will normally have one or two bedrooms. Ideal for smaller groups or couples.
Either a premium room in a Private Hall of Residence or a self-contained flat or apartment where all of the amenities are in one space. Typically the most expensive option.
A room in a house where the landlord or owner currently lives. A good option if you are not too concerned about living with other students and are budget conscious.
A self-contained room, which includes most amenities but with shared bathroom facilities.
Cardiff is well known for being the capital of Wales and also its largest city. What you may not know is that its University is a top-five University for research excellence. If you are into Sport, then Cardiff is the city for you as there are lots of top sports activities on offer. Welsh National Rugby Union, for example, has its home at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and there is also an International Sports Village which offers an ice rink as well as an Olympic size swimming pool. Not forgetting the Cardiff Bay Water Activity Centre as well, where you can white water raft or jet ski as well.
As you can imagine, Cardiff is a very popular destination for tourists as well, as not only does it have a castle as its centre, but it is also home to a huge variety of shops, restaurants and nightlife as well. The waterfront area at Cardiff Quay is an excellent addition to the city, featuring regular arts and craft and food festivals, and you can even take a boat trip around the bay if you wish.
Cardiff is a very accessible city – not only from the rest of the UK but actually when you are studying there as well. Public transport links in the area are good, there are lots of cycle paths as well, and it is easy to get around on foot too. There are good air, road and rail connections too, so it won’t be too hard for your parents or friends to visit you either.
