Bishop Grosseteste University
Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) was established as a teacher training college in Lincoln in 1862. It was not until 2012 that it gained full university status and began to offer a range of taught degrees. The University was named after Robert Grosseteste, a 13th Century educator and the Bishop of Lincoln. The University currently has around 2,300 students across its programmes.

Students' Union
The Students Union is at the heart of the Bishop Grosseteste University community. The Union is made up of course representatives, part time officers, sabbatical officers and the student council, all of which represent the student voice. The Union is home to many societies that hold regular events in the union.

News
Academics from Bishop Grosseteste University have been awarded a research grant of 178,000 euros from Erasmus funding in order to research the well-being of initial teacher training students. This international project will be lead by Dr. Emma Clarke, Dr. Phil Wood, Shaun Thompson and Aimee Quickfall and will look to develop a well-being toolkit for ITE students.
