Liverpool John Moores University can trace its origins to the Liverpool Mechanics’ School of Arts which was established in 1823. Located in a lively city with friendly people, the University places great focus on its shared history with Liverpool. Liverpool John Moores University has been ranked 81st in the country overall by The Complete University Guide 2024. The University has also had three subjects ranked in the top 10 in the UK which are Hospitality, Leicester, Recreation and Tourism, Sports Science and Art and Design.
Employability
Liverpool John Moores University offers many degrees with opportunities for work-related learning alongside. Fees
For undergraduate students from the UK, the tuition fees are £9,250 per year. For international students, the tuition fees range from 15,600 to 16,100 depending on whether the course is laboratory or classroom based.
Bursaries
Liverpool John Moores University offers bursaries to students based on household income. Eligible students are given £500 per year which does not need paying back. There are also a number of other awards, scholarships and trust funds which students can apply for depending on their individual situation.

Students' Union
The University Student’s Union focuses completely on students and their university experience. As well as a wide range of activities and social events, the Union also runs services and support networks to help everyone get the best out of their time at Liverpool John Moores University. The Union has over 100 Sports Clubs and Societies within Team LJMU, from Photography to Handball, Engineering to Cheerleading.

Liverpool John Moores University has recently confirmed a partnership with the much-anticipated Littlewoods Film and TV Studios. This will create a direct line between academia and industry, allowing the University to offer a range of Higher Education courses which will equip students with the skills needed for the film and TV sector.
