Nunnery Court, Derby

This award-winning hall (Best University Housing 2022,2023 & 2024*) consists of 307, mostly premium standard rooms in the heart of the University Quarter. Residents are conveniently close to lectures, the city centre’s restaurants, bars and shops and the FREE Unibus service. Rooms are arranged in flats with 5 or 6 people sharing a communal kitchen. All kitchens contain a cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, sink, drainer, cupboards, work tops and table and chairs or breakfast bar with seating. Premium standard rooms have a small double bed with underbed storage, a wash basin, bookshelves, a wardrobe, a desk and chair and hi-speed internet. Flatmates share a separate shower room and toilet which are cleaned regularly by our cleaning team. There are also a small quantity of ensuite and adapted rooms at this hall. Hall facilities include a laundry, a pleasant outside courtyard and a common room with pool table, table tennis, arcade machine, PS4 and a lounge area with flat screen TV. Resident wellbeing is our number one priority. The staff team have strong links with student services at the University and can offer help, advice and reassurance. There is also a 24hr contact number for residents and round-the-clock security. Free social events and activities Unlike other halls in Derby, University halls organise a Residence Life programme of mostly free activities and events with opportunities to try new hobbies, make friends and settle in. Activities include free sports tournaments, quizzes, cookery classes and low-cost day trips.
